When the internet first started, or first came into the overall consciousness on most people in America it was not a lot of anything. I can remember playing some very rudimentary games on the basis of the Nickelodeon tv program The Secret World of Alex Mack. I remember reading some really terrible articles about a number of my personal favorite bands. But mostly, I remember being nonplussed about the whole thing. The thing that was this thing going to complete for me besides have me hunched over a table reading low quality junk?
Well obviously the jury is no longer out on the net and most of us now and seemingly will forever go on the web. It has made communication easier but in addition fundamentally different. Exactly the same could be said about shopping and researching topics of interest. It has made a wealth and variety of entertainment completely free. This last one is probable the biggest shift for us and for a number of people I am aware as well. This is because such things as the movie theatre start to reduce their luster whenever you discover that you can watch free full movies online. It becomes difficult to rationalize the $12 cost most theaters are charging these days when you are able get new free movies online. Not that the largeness of the theater doesn't have its charms. If I can watch free movies online, like those produced by PBS, why would I bother having a television not to mention paying ever rising cable costs?
The net is a vast wonderland of entertainment available if you want it with little to know cost at all. There's a bad element to this obviously, mostly so it is now increasingly hard for artists and entertainers to get paid for the job that they're doing. Still there is an upside as well. With the ease it takes to place funny videos online or your weird short films online nearly everyone can release their work and own it seen by a wide selection of people. As a result individuals are willing to check out things they could never have seen when these were seriously considering how exactly to best utilize their precious entertainment money.
I think at this point it is best for the entire world to check out plenty of various things on line from free indie films to short films, but to also take the leap and hit up the theater every now and again or even occasionally buy a DVD. This may seem like the best way to help keep the movies I would like coming and keep myself informed.
